                                  WOUNDS
Physical wounds heal in course of time,
But it is unconceivable in second case.
As the bruises given mentally may never fade.
        When the opportune time comes,
        They are fresh and pinch.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS OF LIFE (2)

On father,s day to day,I remember the day when my husband[late S. Gurcharan singh] got angry and said "shut up" to his friend[1967]when he suggested us to go for the third child[i was having two sweet daughters at that time ]saying "I am not going to loose any raj gaddi if it does not happen "
Yesterday i was listening to Barak Obama , with interest that he is happy to have two daughters and would never think of going for the third one ,it was in news.
Memories propped up .
And a film like script raced before my eyes .
What a super computer God has bestowed upon us with unlimited storage !!!
Presently happy to see my eldest daughter ,well settled in life with her gezetted officer in central Govt job,son educated at UcLa[,phd ]working at San francisco[u.s.a.]and a daughter studying in MBA at Yale university[u.s.a.]
My daughter/her husband carried the notion that son/daughters are equal to the next generation .
She herself is BSc.Bed,was studying in MSc[Anthropology]when got married .
Papa,s BLESSINGS with you !!

memorable moments of life !!

Forced by the family circumstances and both of us being in administrative jobs[head of high schools]my husband thought it better to admit our two little sons in his own institution, which was a Govt school of a remote village in Ludhiana,pb.He was aware that there the kids would not get the modren amenities of fully furnished classrooms and labs etc. He only thought of giving constant loving and caring touch to them along with stern and disciplined watch over their studies .
These days a term NANNY DADS,is heard.Today read in news paper that celebrities[ dads ]carry out hands on parenting with aplomb and love .
In 1980s on wards he carried out this practice of acting as nanny and came out with flying colours regarding the result.
Both of them are well settled one in usa, after doing B.E.[pb]masters[Newjersy[U.S.A.]and MBA from Michigan University[u.s.a]working as manager in reputed company[u.s.a.]
The youngest one is MBBS[pb]cleared competitive exam of his field at Ontario,Canada,Got permanent residency of Canada .
To day is FATHER,S DAY.[though he is not with us (died 27th oct,2010)we all are feeling his
blessings in our lives .
May his soul rest in peace .

About my Faded passion

Encouraged by my wonderful success [stood first in Bachelor of teaching ,in PUNJAB UNIVERSITY ,SIMLA.in, 1957-58,from Khalsa college Amritsar.]I thought of appearing in I.A.S competitive exam.I asked for the prospectus and my cousin sent it to me .One peculiar line about famale candidates shattered my hopes and I was debarred by my father to sit in this competition. It was that the successful female candidates cannot opt for marriage .I am talking of the year 1956-7-8.Of course Sarla Khanna was the first woman I.A.S. officer,as the rule got changed for good .
Because of my Papa,s [though very liberal in his attitude, had been a freedom fighter, worked with Vinoba Bhave ]adament attitude I could not be in civil services.
Now whenever i see any Woman I.A.S. officer ,my passionate desire again surfaces and asks like "why not now "?But I think now my age of 75 yrs old ,will close the door on me .
Thank God I am retired Principal ,having all my kids ,settled abroad .Jagjit kaur
